very nice, and mysterious ... is it a filter with a vignette? - and so the entire mystery is gone ... still beautiful

No filter—the heavy vignette (up to 3 stops between center and corners when opened to f/1) is a characteristic of Leica Noctilux.

it seems to have also ... a dark brown red tent of color ... this is why i thought you should have used a filter also! thanks for sharing the technique
