Apple Your iPhone Is...?

You’ve got to wonder when Apple is going to change the name of the iPhone. The phone part of the device increasingly seems like an afterthought, not the main attraction. The main benefit of the device is that it does everything.

I was just thinking about that — for me the iPhone is firstly a messaging and Internet device (E-mail, SMS, Twitter, browser etc), secondly a camera, then a scheduler and a note-taking device and in the end a phone.

1. Scheduler and note taking
2. Map
3. Messaging
4. Camera
5. Phone
6. iPod
7. Internet

Just by writing this list—no matter the phone's place—it's clear that 'phone' as a concept is obsolete, history. But I guess people are not ready yet to accept that we've become so much like the SF worlds that 'Ghost In The Shell' or 'Dennou Coil' portray.
