I still don't quite know what to think of that video. These are people in a war zone, I don't think we can judge them by normal standards.

If killing people is your every day task, you probably wouldn't be able to do it if you wouldn't totally detach yourself from reality and see it all like a giant video game.

We can theorize, but we'll never really know how it's like so I'm still doubtful of us trying to judge how they should talk or feel about killing people, and how they should react to when they make mistakes.

Vivi, I think your point has a lot of common sense—the corollary being that we don't know what's like being in their shoes. I totally agree, and also I hope I'll never find out.

On the other hand, I think that in a war usually both parties comprise some seriously fucked up men (killing people is their every day task) playing by some very "flexible" rules (“Well, it’s their fault for bringing their kids into a battle”) and a good (read: responsible) war movie should pay attention to the grays between the they are bad, we are good ends of the spectrum. Who where the good guys in the case above? Who where the bad ones? I think war is abominable especially because of those grays.

I wasn't sure what your post was trying to say. :-)

If you were mostly towards the movie, I vaguely agree with your statement - I personally thought it was a pretty good movie, much more balanced than other movies on the subject, showing some fucked up people and fucked up situations.
